Little did I know that when I took my wife to the “Windows on the World” restaurant for her birthday in 1999 that the building would not exist a couple of years later. It was always fascinating to look down and see all the helicopters buzzing below us. Then there was the view of the harbor and all the boats/ferries scurrying around like bees.
We were at the WTC for dinner twice during our 4-year stay in New Jersey, so I have several pictures, but this is my favorite. The island to the left is the Statue of Liberty, while the one to the right is Ellis Island. Both are worth a day long visit. It is hard to sometimes remember that except for us Native Americans, we are all immigrants to the U.S. That fact needs to be better understood by all the MAGA folks today.
