
It’s that time of year again. County fairs are springing up across the country. I spent 21 years living in a very small rural county in Indiana, and the county fair was the highlight of the year. I don’t know how many times I went to the fair, but two things I never missed when I did go were the motocross races and an Indiana breaded tenderloin sandwich.
The picture above is one of my favorite classes of races. It was more about just getting around the track, winning was very secondary. I think this was the first time I ever saw a motocross cycle with training wheels. I suspect that my weed whacker had a more powerful engine than the one that powered this youngster that day.
That young man on the bike is now in his late 20s. I wonder what type of person he grew up to be?
