#30 – Fascinated By Glass

I don’t remember when my fascination with glass began. Maybe it was my first visit in the 1980s to a museum in my wife’s hometown, Neenah, Wisconsin, named Bergstrom-Mahler – Museum of Glass. There are literally thousands of pieces of glass art. I will save any more details of that museum for future mosaics.

The Mosaic above is a close-up of the glass shelf in my collection case of “Places Visited”. The case is full of the memorabilia of 150+ trips. The highlight of the image above is the 4″ diameter crystal ball. I bought it because of the story about unique photos you can make using the ball. You get a little idea of that above, but there are thousands of possibilities that I haven’t explored yet. I need to get it off the shelf and into the many flower beds and such around my RetCom home.

Some day I will make mosaics of each shelf in my display case. There are literally hundreds of stories residing in that cabinet alone.

BTW… The picture at the back of the case is entitled “Ewe, Me & The Apple Tree”. I love the play on words.
